Planet for Pirx?

Friday, November 24th, 2006

“China to Europeans has been like the moon”, writes Joseph Needham. Needham`s volumes on “Science and Civilsation in China” serve as a navigational toolbox for travelling to this moon. Do we have a navigational toolbox for travelling to Africa?

Are there science fictions that prepare the european mind for such an embarkment? For travellings to the astrological moon of the earth Ludovico Ariosto, Cyrano de Bergerac, Jules Verne, Stanislaw Lem and a manifold of others have prepared the western minds. For journeys to China Europeans get more and more trained. But who is inventing pilots like Pirx, which direct our attention to Africa? Who does invent and unfold fictional characters which prepare our minds for journeys to this galaxay of problems?

Out of a number one, that is followed by another one, infinite chains of numbers can be created.
The same holds for the letters. The patterns of creation of chains of numbers are different than the patterns of creaton of chains of letters. The challenge is the worldwide explosion of computer technology. Is a technology of numbers, ciphers and strict coding. This technology will become the dominate way of dealing with signs. It will dominate also the order and degrees of freedom with which signs will be operated. This is problematic because it will challenge the possibilities of idiomatic and singular languages, dialects… Heidegger was reflecting this. His conclusions were pessimistic. He foresaw the advent of a race of counting technocrates. His hope was that special educated beings will resist the computeristic technocratic domination. Possibly he did not foresee the chances of confronting the freedom of mathematical creation with the freedom of poetic creation.

Is there one type of machine working in Africa?
Are there many types of machines working in Africa?
Is there one African mind?
Are there many African minds?

Does one machine change one African mind?
Does one machine change many African minds?
Do many machines change one African mind?
Do many machines change many African minds?

What does Bill Gates think about this?
What does Alex Antener think about this?
What are the many Chinese minds thinking about this?

Shall I change my mind before I start to reflect about this questions?
Shall I change my minds before I start to reflect about this questions?

Can a mind by changed?

A Turing machine can be changed by changing its table or its program.

Shall I speak of one type of machinery?
Shall I speak of many types of machinery?
Shall I reduce all kind of machines to one abstract machine?
Shall I start to think of a manifold of machines?

Is there one principle of causality?
Are there many principles of causality?

Is there one logical system?
Are there many logical systems?

Is there one machine, which finds the answer to this questions?
Is there one human being, which finds the answer to this questions?
If so, how does this machine or this human being comunicate the answer?
