Planet for Pirx?

“China to Europeans has been like the moon”, writes Joseph Needham. Needham`s volumes on “Science and Civilsation in China” serve as a navigational toolbox for travelling to this moon. Do we have a navigational toolbox for travelling to Africa?

Are there science fictions that prepare the european mind for such an embarkment? For travellings to the astrological moon of the earth Ludovico Ariosto, Cyrano de Bergerac, Jules Verne, Stanislaw Lem and a manifold of others have prepared the western minds. For journeys to China Europeans get more and more trained. But who is inventing pilots like Pirx, which direct our attention to Africa? Who does invent and unfold fictional characters which prepare our minds for journeys to this galaxay of problems?
