Today the book was published. It said, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. It said, objects in motion tend to remain in motion. It said, the force of gravitational attraction between two bodies decreases with increasing distance between them as the inverse of the square of that distance, so if the distance is doubled, the force is down by a factor of four. It said what lovers have always known. You moved steadily speedily in a straight line towards me. Natural horizontal motion. You went away. Natural accelerated motion. You couldn’t get away fast enough. Acceleration means a body is being acted upon by a force. Your body, what force on earth could induce it to stay?  Today the earth is furthest from the sun. Six months ago they were five million kilometres closer. And so, my dearest, were we.
